Kimberly Parke received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from University of California, Berkeley (Engineering Music: Giambattista Aleotti’s “De la musica”) and her B.Mus. from Oberlin College. Her research explores the use of metaphors in scientific and musical discourses, the importance of technology in shaping the early modern mindset, and the mechanization of time in performance. She is currently lecturing at the New Zealand School of Music.
